The Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy is requesting proposals for Professional Legal Services to fulfill its statutory purposes and responsibilities, meet its other legal obligations, and advance its strategic plan. The awarded law firm should be well versed in education, particularly school law, with reference to federal and state statutory and case law governing public education in the State of Illinois. Counsel must be licensed to practice law in Illinois. A minimum of five years of legal practice and experience with public institutions of education governing boards is required. In addition, the firm should be able to provide a broad range of legal services and prepare legal documents required by the Board.
Any contract resulting from this solicitation will have an initial term of date of execution through June 30, 2019. If a start date is not identified, the term of the resulting contract shall commence upon the last dated signature of the parties. The Academy reserves the right to renew for a total of nine (9) additional one year periods, subject to successful negotiation of increases in fees, if any.
All questions / concerns regarding this solicitation must be in written form and submitted to the Solicitation Contact no later than Tuesday May 15, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Local Time. Questions received and University responses may be posted as an addendum to the original solicitation on the Bulletin; only these written responses to questions shall be binding on the University. Vendors are responsible for monitoring the Bulletin for addenda and other updates.
Requirements for Submission of Responses: The Response must be submitted in separately sealed packets as indicated on page 6 of the solicitation document and clearly labeled with the Request for Proposal title, the packet number, the Vendor's name and the wording: "Sealed Response - Do Not Open." The separately sealed packets may be submitted together in one mailing / shipping box or may be submitted separately in individual / shipping boxes. Do not put the entire Response on one CD or USB. Pricing must be on a separate CD or USB and sealed in the Pricing packet.
