The University awarded a contract for X-ray equipment.
Radiographic (X-ray) equipment used in the diagnosis of patients? medical condition at the University of Illinois Hospital.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) The Department of Radiology is replacing an older radiographic unit located in the Emergency Department at the University of Illinois Hospital. We have had considerable downtime on the current unit over the last few years and thus have determined that replacing the unit with a new more capable unit will improve patient care in the Emergency Department by providing better radiographic images as well as improved productivity by reducing downtime.
