Francisco Partners have acquired healthcare data and analytics assets from IBM that are were part of the Watson Health business. The assets acquired by Francisco Partners include extensive and diverse data sets and products, including Health Insights, MarketScan, Clinical Development, Social Program Management, Micromedex, and imaging software offerings.

L.P. acquired IBM technology assets and existing client relationships associated with IBM’s Watson Health to form a standalone technology company. The vendor for this exemption is now Merative, L.P.

The University award process may be delayed up to thirty days as this award goes through a state approval process.

This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) The procurement in the best interests of the University as this insurance data set allows the Faculty and graduate students in the Department of Pharmacy Systems, Outcomes and Policy to conduct cutting edge research in health outcomes and health disparities research.
