OCT (Zeiss Cirrus OCT) - Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a non-contact imaging technique which generates cross-sectional images of retina tissue with high resolution. Biometer (Zeiss IOLMaster 700) - A biometer is the diagnostic instrument that is used for measuring the power of the cornea (keratometry) and the length of the eye and using this data to determine the ideal intraocular lens power for cataract surgery. Visual Field (Zeiss HFA 860) - Humphrey field analyzer (HFA) is a tool for measuring the human visual field that is commonly used by optometrists and ophthalmologists, particularly for detecting monocular visual field. Fundus Camera (Zeiss Clarus 700) - A fundus camera or retinal camera is a specialized camera designed to photograph the interior surface of the eye, including the retina, retinal vasculature, optic disc, macula, and posterior pole.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) Zeiss provides technology for diagnosis, treatment, follow-up and management of most common eye diseases. Zeiss provides comprehensive connectivity solutions to help increase efficiency amongst all instruments and productivity with electronic workflow. Zeiss offers clinical applications training and a broad range of service and support options. This is the optimal equipment to be installed in the University's new Outpatient Surgery Center.su
