The University awarded a contract for dental material.
Dental material, endodontic files, ultrasonic equipment used in the pre-patient and patient clinics at the College of Dentistry.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) The procurement is in the best interest of the University given the quality products used for patient care and educational purposes. The College has a history with the products and the supplies that satisfy the needs of the current curriculum and faculty in addition to be evidence based products with a scientific background.
