It will be a great instrument to serve UIC faculties and students in walk-up service. Furthermore, the analysis speed is much faster than the current LC/MS setup for protein, peptide and small molecule analysis. The analysis time of 50 peptide/small molecule samples on MALDI TOF (from sample prep to data analysis) is about 1hr compared to 10 hrs on LC/MS.
