The University awarded a contract for Store Scanner Data.
Store scanner data (UPC level data). The data is custom ordered to our specifications (data methodologies).
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) Purchasing the store scanner data based on our custom order specifications allowed us to propose a set of research aims and methodology not previously undertaken in the literature which will provide innovative and new evidence. Our unique research design contributed to us securing our 4.9 million dollar grant.
