Chemicals, DNA Clean-Up and Gel Purification Kits, Transfection Reagents and Protein Purification for purchase for scientific research used by Genome Research for sequencing and cell development.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) Only Qiagen DNA and RNA Reagents and Purification kits that can be utilized in the Qiagen instruments. Not using Qiagen reagent and supply kits could result in recorroboartion and revalidation of research data and cause considerable additional time and cost.
