The University awarded a contract for an Advanced Practice Nurse.
OSF Healthcare System, dba OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, will provide an Advanced Practice Nurse for Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. The Advanced Practice Nurse will evaluate and treat patients at the St. Jude Clinic, serve as liaison beteen the families and physicians; be available to answer questions via phone in between office visits; provide educational training to patients and their families regarding their medical needs. The nurse will communicate lab and/or procedure results under the direction and supervision of the physicians.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) The College of Medicine Peoria Pediatric Hematology/Oncology clinical program is located within the St. Jude Clinic at the Children's Hospital of Illinois, on the OSF St. Francis Medical Center campus. OSF will provide the staff and St. Jude must approve the support staff. OSF St. Francis Medical Center has the availabilty of qualified staff that currently work at the St. Jude Clinic and can be provide service as needed in the clinic.
