The University awarded a contract for family-based treatment.
The Chicago Center for Evidence Based Treatment (CCEBT) is to conduct Family-Based Treatment (FBT) and Multi Family Therapist (MFT) therapies for adolescent with Anorexia Nervosa and collect data as described in the sponsored program proposal being funded by BCBS award number 096982.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) The CCEBT therapists are to conduct Family-based treatment (FBT) and Multi Family Therapist (MFT) therapy sessions for adolescents with Anorexia Nervosa and collect data, as described in sponsored program proposal funded by BCBS. The contract is necessary for performance of a funded sponsored program. CCEBT is to act as contractor for professional services. Impact: Increased knowledge for treatment of AN in adolescents. Expected dissemination forums: Disorder Research Society, International Conference on Eating Disorders, Society of Adolescent Medicine National Conference, Pediatric Academic Societies Meeting, and Journals Including; International Journal of Eating Disorders, Journal of Eating Disorders, Journal of Adolescent Health.
