The University awarded a contract for an electrocardiogram (ECG) machine.
MAC VU360 is an electrocardiogram (ECG) machine that is used to check the heart's rhythm and electrical activity.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) EKG units are standardized by GE within the system to afford consistency in clinical outputs, ease of training and coverage by the staff, and upgraded units replace end of support, aged equipment. The new units have inherent Artificial Intelligence (AI) features to improve quality, efficiency and IT infrastructure compatibility.
