The University awarded a contract for a NI PXI System.
The equipment helps with hardware in the loop testing and emulation of advance control for power electronics systems.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) This procurement will allow the PI to expand more on different research opportunities and can work on more collaborations with other universities/companies/laboratories. This also will then lead to more funding being brought to the university to support all the research efforts of the PI. The lead times is 70-75 days.
