The University awarded a contract for Cadaver Organs for Transplantation.
Donor Alliance provides donated organs for life-saving transplant surgeries. UI Health is the leading kidney transplant program in the region and our patients significantly rely on the partnership, coordination, and service Organ Procurement Organizations like Donor Alliance supply.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) Donor Alliance is an Organ Procurement Organization located in Colorado and provides donations when a match is found and accepted between them and our patients.
