The University awarded a contract for Dental Implants.
Dental Implants and other restorative/prosthetic components required for use in the various dental clinics for patients at UIC College of Dentistry.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) Straumann offers a wide range of products needed to meet patient needs. Without these products, we would not be able to meet the extensive range of care required by the patients we treat daily. The procurement is in the best interest of the University given the quality products used for patient care and educational purposes.
