Project Description
Scope of work includes interior build-out and renovation of approximately 3,400 square feet in the Digital Computing Building (DCL). The existing first floor vacant rooms (Rooms 1240A-D, 1245, 1245A, 1251 and 1252) will be converted into Bio Safety level 2 wet research laboratories. The adjacent spaces (classrooms, laboratories and offices) in the building will be occupied during the duration of construction. Work includes selective removal of partitions, doors and frames, ceiling, overhead structural supporting members and ceiling mounted devices, mechanical duct work, piping, electrical and fire protection of selected basement, first floor, second floor, third floor and roof spaces. New work includes wall partition, doors and frames, ceiling and grid, laboratory casework and equipment, light fixtures, power and data outlets, sprinklers, mechanical ductwork, diffusers and roof mounted equipment, flooring, painting, and plumbing. The work also includes coordination of owner furnished laboratory equipment with the new construction and connection to mechanical systems and installation of a new environmental cold room on the first floor. Work for the environmental cold room will include demolition of interior curtain walls at the first floor and installation of a new concrete composite metal deck at the second floor, new partitions, doors and frames, and environmental room.
