Project Description
This project is the renovation of four galleries within the Krannert Art Museum, specifically 164A, 164,166, and 167 (galleries 3, 4, 5, and 6). Room 162 (gallery 2) has already been remodeled and will act as a model for these new renovations. The renovations include new ceilings and new wall construction. The wall construction will add on to the existing walls to create a furred out condition allowing void space behind the hanging surface that will include metal studs and plywood sheathing. The void space can be utilized to run conduit and other elements. Floors will be patched and refinished where they are of wood construction. Where stone is in place, it will be removed and replaced with wood. Associated structural system above the new ceilings for access and installation of future exhibits, ventilation, electrical, data, fire protection and environmental work will be included.

This Project is located at: Krannert Art Museum 500 E. Peabody Drive, Champaign, IL. 61820
