The University awarded a contract for Mach 40 Ultrasound System.
The research requires use of Mach40 Ultrasound System with access to the raw data collected by the machine. Mach40 is the only ultrasound machine that allows the users access to the raw data for download and post processing using 3rd party software of user's choice.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) .
