The University would like to procure a state-of-the-art piece of equipment for the analysis and tracking of nanoparticles to be place in the the Materials Research Laboratory shared facilities at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis (NTA) has emerged as a facile yet powerful method to visualize and quantify nano-scaled particles and molecules in solutions.
