The College of Health Sciences (CHS) recently created a new academic department (Department of Health Studies). A new chairperson (Dr. William Ebomoyi) was also hired to provide leadership for the newly created department. Dr. Ebomoyi is a nationally and internationally known epidemiologist with a research focus in anthropometric BOD composition evaluation. The BOD Pod equipment will allow Dr. Ebomoyi to continue his research agenda at Chicago State University (CSU). Furthermore, the equipment will be used for classroom and clinical instruction for students enrolled in the Community Health program. Moreover, the HIV/AIDS Policy and Research Institute (HAPRI) will benefit from the acquisition of this start-of-the-art equipment for use to further their ongoing research projects.
This purchase is only economically available from a single source because the
compatibility of equipment, accessories, replacement parts, or service is a paramount consideration.
