Chicago State University is seeking proposals to operate its University Bookstore located in the Business and Health Science building under a contractual Agreement. The University's goal is to award an exclusive five year contract with options to renew for an additional four year term, not to exceed 10 years. Lessee will start operation in for the spring 2010 Term; first five year will end on December 31, 2015. Lessee will operate as an independent Lessee and not as an employee of the University. Lessee will work cooperatively with the University to implement its goals for a campus bookstore. Each Respondent must provide a proposal based upon these terms. However, the University will also encourage alternative contract terms as part of an overall financial package.
A Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference consisting of a facility tour, a question and answer session in the Cook Administration room 317 will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday August 3, 2009. ATTENDANCE AT THIS MANDATORY PROPOSERS' CONFERENCE IS A PREREQUISITE TO SUBMITTING A PROPOSAL. The purpose of the Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference is to allow Lessees an opportunity to present questions and obtain clarification relative to any facet of this RFP. All the questions asked during the Conference will be answered in writing to all Respondents in attendance. PROPOSALS SUBMITTED BY RESPONDENTS WHO FAILED TO ATTEND THE MANDATORY PROPOSERS' CONFERENCE SHALL BE REJECTED BY THE UNIVERSITY.
