Larson Equipment and Furniture Co. submitted a price quote at $167,645.00. However of the ten (10) criteria Larson met only five (5), most critical was the delivery date of October 1st while Larson stated their delivery date was December 1st.
Carroll Seating Co. met nine (9) of the ten (10) criteria, Carroll did state that they could meet the delivery date of October 1st .They therefore were the lowest responsible bidder and served the best interest of the University.
The University award process may be delayed up to thirty days as this award goes through a state approval process.
The bleachers shall be installed in the Jacoby Dickens Athletic and Physical Education Center (JDC).

The Board of Trustees of Chicago State University is seeking a vendor to remove and dispose (2)banks 17 rows x 100 feet of steel bleachers. Install new telescopic seating system comprised of multi-tiered rows of seats, deck components and risers on interconnected, retractable, supporting structure. Seating operation shall be by means of electric operation. Telescopic seating system will be wall attached. A rear gap filler (deck or seat level) to close the space between the wall and the rear seats shall be provided. The bleachers shall be installed in the new Emil and Patricia A. Jones Convocation Center.
The vendor must demonstrate that they have a proven track record in handling the challenges of providing bleachers for Sport and Convocation facilities in the nation.
There is a mandatory Pre-Bid Conference which will be held at Chicago State University (Cordell Reed Student Union, Conference Room A & B, 9501 S. King Drive, Chicago, IL.) on July 15, 2010 at 10:00A.M. All prospective bidders are required to attend. All representatives must be in the room no later than 10:15A.M. and must stay for the entire meeting and site visit. If the contractor is late or leaves before the completion, the contractor will not be considered attending the pre-bid conference.
All questions must be emailed to B-Hopkins@csu.edu . Questions will be addressed in the form of an addendum and will be sent to all in attendance at the pre-bid conference. If contact of any kind occurs with any other representative, this will be grounds for disqualification.

Vendor may expect payment thirty to sixty days after receipt of invoice, unless otherwise stated in the bid documents.
Illinois Department of Human Rights
(IDHR) eligibility number is required on all proposals.
This transaction is subject to the State Board of Elections registration and certification requirements of Public Act 095-0971.
