The University awarded a contract for Abatement and Rebuilding of Water Damaged Areas.
This emergency/quick purchase was required due to a situation in which immediate action was needed to prevent any disruption in University services.
Several burst pipes throughout the Chicago State University campus has resulted in multiple buildings sustaining damage and rendering areas uninhabitable. Chicago State University needs to repair all of the water damaged areas to reopen classrooms, library areas, offices, and storage areas. There is also a fear of further mold intrusion if these areas are not immediately repaired. The fin tube heating repair is to keep the building at a safe temperature for occupancy. These repairs have been approved to be covered under Chicago State University's Insurance minus the $50,000 deductible. Chicago State University is posting this emergency in the case that Chicago State University has to pay the contractor directly and then be reimbursed by the insurance company.
