The University awarded a contract for Continuation of QBS 2019PP - A&E Services to M.E.P. Infrastructure Solutions Inc., Chicago, IL, for an estimated $59,859.20.
The University has a need to complete the project that was begun with an award resulting from QBS 2019PP. This is needed as the COVID-19 pandemic slowed down the vendor's performance under the QBS award and the project is not finished. The end result of this project will be the completed drawings for a childcare facility for the University's students, faculty, and staff; the specifications for the resulting Invitation for Bid; and management of the construction phase of the campus childcare project.
The University, on information and belief, has concluded that only one vendor can meet its need or can meet the need economically. That vendor is M.E.P. Infrastructure Solutions Inc. The University has provided detailed justification to support its conclusion as shown on the attached Sole Source Justification Form.
Although the University has presented this as a sole source procurement, we are seeking competitive information from firms with the capability of meeting the University?s need (even if performed in a manner different from what has been presented) to contact us and provide sufficient information to show the need can be met. If we receive that information, the Chief Procurement Officer will offer a public hearing to consider the matter.
Hearing information is described below.
The University has determined that this purchase is only economically available from this source because the critical changes to an existing contract are necessary and best accomplished by the contract holder.
