The Board of Trustees of Eastern Illinois University requests submission from interested firms to design a voice, video and data infrastructure system, which may include wireless topologies for the administrative and academic buildings on campus.
It is our intent to install a structured cabling system within all administrative/academic buildings with voice, video and data outlets. Cabling, cabling infrastructure and all connections into existing campus communication systems for complete network integration will be the successful candidate's responsibility. The selected firm will be required to coordinate cabling integration into new and existing ceiling and wall construction as well as provide ancillary closets and any other required spaces.
In addition, the selected firm will design the revision, enhancement and expansion of the University's internal and external communication system: voice systems, video systems, local and campus area networks, network security, internal building cabling, interbuilding cabling, data communication and telecommunication systems with regard to voice and data convergence.
The successful design firm will consist of experienced and talented engineers, architects and commissioning agents knowledgeable in the aforementioned systems. The University will use a structured process to select the design team as well as oversee the design effort. The entire project will be under the purview of the EIU Facilities Planning and Management Department.
The University will begin evaluating submissions from the interested design teams on October 11 2002 with the intent to short list firms by November 11, 2002. Submit 4 paper copies and 1 electronic copy on CD Rom in Word format of the requested Statement of Qualifications to:
