The scope of work shall include the complete removal of the existing south building stair and the renovation of the existing north building stair. Renovations to these areas at all floors shall be included.
The new Student Success Center shall contain the following areas:
  • A second floor level containing approx. 5158 sf and including the new stair, elevator, clerical receiption area with storage and work/copy/mail room areas, offices including the Coordinator's, Assistant Coordinator's and three Graduate Assistant's areas, a seminar/conference room and two classrooms.
  • A first floor level containing approx 313 sf including stairs and elevator.
  • A third floor level containing approx 770 sf including stairs, elevator, electrical equipment room and storage room.
Building construction shall consist of poured concrete foundation, footings, and piers. Poured concrete slab on grade floors with elevated slabs consisting of 20 ga. metal decking on steel joists and steel beams with columns. Roofing consisting of a two-ply modified bituminous roofing surface with all necessary flashings over 3" polyisocyanurate insulation, metal roof decking and a roof frame system of steel beams with columns. Exterior walls shall consist of metal studs with batt insulation, drywall interior, dens shield exterior sheathing and vertical vinyl siding. Interior partitions consisting of metal studs, sound insulation and painted drywall surfaces. Interior finishes shall include acoustical tile ceilings with metal grids, vinyl composition flooring, painted drywall surfaces, stained interior wood doors in metal frames, toilet accessories and laminate casework.
The electrical system shall include a new 800 amp electrical service and devices as necessary to feed the new addition and the existing building. New lighting and power devices in new addition. New fire alarm system throughout new addition and existing building.
The HVAC system shall include a new rooftop unit with DX cooling and gas preheat, and VAV boxes with electric reheat in new addition.

Drawings and specifications for this project may be obtained from Hance, Utz & Associates, PC, Architects, 1013 S. 19th Street, Mattoon, IL 61938, by depositing $100 for each set up to two sets. Actual bidders will be refunded their deposit for the first two sets. Non-bidders will be refunded $25 per set for the first two sets. Subcontractors (Contractors not bidding direct to Owner) and Material Suppliers will be charged $75 (NON-REFUNDABLE) for each set or actual printing costs for portions of sets.
