Project Description
The scope of work for this project is the complete demolition and redevelopment of toilet/shower rooms at basement through the third floor levels in Lincoln Hall. Miscellaneous demolition of existing construction and finishes. New metal stud and gypsum board construction, ceramic tile, vinyl wall coverings, acoustical ceilings, painting, doors, frames, hardware, concrete and structural steel repairs. Plumbing, mechanical, and electrical work, associated with new toilet/shower rooms. Building wide installation of new fire alarm system & sprinkler systems. Development of new public restrooms at 1st floor level of Stevenson Hall. Selected demolition and redevelopment of east and west Food Servery areas of Stevenson Hall Dining. A small addition to the west serving area of masonry and steel construction. Minor remodeling at the east & west dining rooms. Ceramic tile walls & floors, glazed partitions and glass sliding doors, mechanical/electrical/plumbing revisions, acoustical tile ceilings, Food Service equipment, associated casework and custom serving stations.

A MANDATORY pre-bid conference is scheduled in the Effingham Room, 3rd Floor, Eastern Illinois University Student Union Building, December 10, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. prevailing time. Attendance at this pre-bid conference is required for all prime (bidding to EIU) contractors. Bids submitted from the non-attending contractors will NOT be opened. It is strongly recommended that all interested parties attend the pre-bid meeting, as access to the buildings is restricted.
All potential food service equipment supplier/installer sub-contractors should submit required pre-qualification resume information as soon as possible and MUST submit resume information to the Architect for pre-qualification not later the 5:00 P.M. prevailing time on Thursday, December 10, 2009, for identification to the potential general contractors.

Each prime (bidding to EIU) contractor may receive up to a maximum of two (2) sets of the documents at a refundable deposit of $125.00 / set. Guaranteed plan deposit cards are acceptable upon approval.
