A pre-bid conference will be scheduled at the Conference Room in Facilities and Planning Office at 1:00 P.M. prevailing time on Monday,
December 6, 2004.
The project consists of the delivery and installation of a Using Agency furnished 300kW diesel fired Caterpillar generator. The contractor will furnish and install an automatic transfer switch. The contractor will modify the existing bussing of the existing unit substation in the Life Sciences Building to allow for connection of new cables to and from the automatic transfer switch. Refundable Plan Deposit: $50 All bids from Contractors must be on the bid proposal form included in the project manual. Bidders must submit their bids in accordance with the bidding instructions in Section 00100. The entire bid form must be completed in order to be considered. Bid security in a dollar amount equal to five percent of the bid submitted must accompany each bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Each bidder must have completed the qualification requirements in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Statutory bonds for performance of the contract and for payment of mechanics and materials will be required in an amount equal to 100 percent of the accepted bid. Bids will be held good and may not be withdrawn for a period of sixty calendar days from the date of receipt. All contractors must pay employees involved with construction on this project not less than the prevailing wage rate. Eastern Illinois University specifically reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities in the bidding and to accept bids which, in its judgment will be for its own best interest.
