The Board of Trustees of Governors State Universityhereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the electrical and voice/data infrastructure cabling project project.

GSU is converting nine existing classrooms into "Smart" and "Genius" teaching rooms. This project includes, but is not limited to: a) 110 Volt power distribution within the rooms from power panels in local mechanical rooms; b) providing a new 200 Amp, 120 Volt power panel within each of two existing mechanical rooms; c)rewiring of existing 277 Volt fluorescent room fixtures for lighting level control; d) distribution of Cat-5e UTP voice and data cable within the rooms from local IT Wiring Rooms; and e) providing control wiring from floor mounted lecture podium to ceiling mounted overhead projection locations in each room.

Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 PM local time, on Thursday, May 20, 2004.Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

All bids must include:

• Bid security (see complete bid for details)
• A letter from a surety company in substantially the form set forth in the Instructions to Bidders assuring the issuance of the Performance and Payment Bond.
• All bidders must submit a PC-2 form as required by the Illinois Department of Human Rights.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 5, 2004, at 9:00 a.m. in the purchasing office. All potential bidders must be represented at this meeting and tour.
