Valley Fire Protection Systems $560,401 and R. Rudnik & Co. $759,550 were the two responsive bidders.

These bid amounts include the base bid and alternate #1 for additional sprinkler heads as specified in the bidding documents. The lowest responsive bidder meeting all specifications is recommended for award.
The University award process may be delayed up to thirty days as this award goes through a state approval process.

Project Description
The specifications and project manual detail all work, including but not limited to a fire water main replacement and fire protection system improvements. This may include: Halon System Removal, a Deluge System, an underground sprinkler relocation and other remaining fire system work, as defined in the specifications.

Sealed bids will be accepted at the address below until 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 2, 2010:

A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 18, 2010. Vendors are to call Lisa at 708-235-7443 to register and receive further details regarding this meeting.
All potential bidder's must be present at this meeting.
Full specifications, drawings and our project manual will be available for download at this site by close of business on Wednesday, August 11, 2010.

All responses must include:
  • Submit 4 copies of the response as defined in the specifications.
  • Sealed envelopes containing the bids have the bid number and project title on the envelope.
  • Bid security (see complete bid for details).
  • A letter from a surety company in substantially the form set forth in the Instructions to Bidders assuring the issuance of the performance and payment bonds.

This transaction is subject to the State Board of Elections registration and certification requirements of Public Act 095-0971.
