R. Carlson & Son's contract amount: $316,597. Other bidder's included: Chicago Heights Construction ($319,235), Novak Construction ($334,500) and Tricon Concrete ($365,954).
The University award process may be delayed up to thirty days as this award goes through a state approval process.

This project involves exterior sidewalk, roadway, entrance, ramp and stair improvements at various locations on GSUâs campus. Improvements at Building C include: replacement of an aluminum storefront entry, replacement of exterior concrete sidewalk and patching of asphalt roadway. Improvements at Building G include: demolition of an existing exterior ramp and stair to be replaced with a new poured-in-place concrete ramp and stair with minor landscaping. Improvements at Buildings C,D,E and F include: concrete stoop renovations at exterior exit doors.
Sealed bids will be accepted at the address below until 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 19, 2011:

There will be a MANDATORY PRE-BID MEETING on Friday, May 6, 2011. Vendors are to call Bettie at 708-534-4056 to register and receive additional details regarding this meeting. All bidders are required to attend this pre-bid meeting & tour.
Specifications & drawings for this project will be available for download by close of business on Monday, April 25, 2011.
All responses must include:
- Submit 4 copies of the response as defined in the specifications.
- Sealed envelopes containing the bids have the bid number and project title on the envelope.
- Bid security (see complete bid for details).
- A letter from a surety company in substantially the form set forth in the Instructions to Bidders assuring the issuance of the performance and payment bonds.
This transaction is subject to the State Board of Elections registration and certification requirements of Public Act 095-0971.
