Low bidder is recommended for award. There was no BEP goal established/required for this project.
This contract is subject to the approval of the University's Board of Trustees.
Bids were received as follows: Chicago Heights Construction $605,900; Abbey Paving Co. Inc. $624,250; Accu-Paving Co. Inc. $624,500; Matthew Paving Inc. $646,806; K-Five Construction Corporation $687,425; and Gallaher Asphalt $746,500. A "no bid" was received from R. Carlson & Sons.
The University award process may be delayed up to thirty days as this award goes through a state approval process.
The bid opening date has been changed to June 1, 2011.

The project scope includes the following: Removal/replacement of the east entry roadway, removal/replacement of the exterior road lighting, and landscaping as specified.

All responses must include:
- Submit 3 copies of the response as defined in the specifications.
- Sealed envelopes containing the bids have the bid number and project title on the envelope.
- Bid security (see complete bid for details).
- A letter from a surety company in substantially the form set forth in the Instructions to Bidders assuring the issuance of the performance and payment bonds.
This transaction is subject to the State Board of Elections registration and certification requirements of Public Act 095-0971.
