Project Description
Governors State University, a 600,000 s.f. facility is seeking an elevator consultant for the design and coordination of the full rehabilitation of five campus elevators.

The awarded firm will be responsible for the design of the cabs as well as engineering disciplines of electrical, mechanical, structural, and acoustical design as required. The awarded firm will prepare bid documents, assist GSU during the bid process and provide construction site observation. Therefore, this awarded firm will not be allowed to bid on the specified work produced for the actual construction and installation.

Additional specifications will be available here for download on Tuesday, January 31, 2006. All elevators must be ADA and IAC compliant.

This solicitation is a multi-step bidding opportunity. When it is considered impracticable to initially prepare a purchase description to support an award based on price, an invitation for bids may be issued requesting the submission of unpriced initial offers to be followed by an invitation for bids limited to those bidders whose offers have been qualified under the criteria set forth in the first solicitation.
Sealed bids will be accepted at the address below until 2:00 PM, Tuesday February 14, 2006:

Sealed envelopes containing the bids will be marked elevator rehabilitation. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

All bids must include:

  • All bidders must submit a PC-2 form as required by the Illinois Department of Human Rights.

Capital Development Board (CDB) prequalified firms are preferred.
