Comments: IPHEC has taken into account 8i of the BEP Act in conducting this renewal. IPHEC negotiated the 1st of 2 renewals with both CenterPoint Energy Services, Inc. and Interstate Municipal Gas Agency (IMGA). Originally, the RFP term was set as contract execution date through June 30, 2020 with the option of 7, 1-year renewals. IPHEC member institutions recently reached out to explain that their universities could save money by locking in price early and purchasing natural gas for multiple years. Therefore, to offer cost savings, IPHEC is requesting to renew the award 7/1/2020 - 6/30/2024. After the renewal, one final renewal will remain on IPHEC1918 for 7/1/2024 through 6/30/2027. CenterPoint Energy Services, Inc. and Interstate Municipal Gas Agency (IMGA) will supply all lPHEC universities on an as-needed basis throughout the term of the contract.

The University award process may be delayed up to thirty days as this award goes through a state approval process.
