The Illinois Secretary of State is giving notice of its intent to enter into a change order to extend its current contract with Henson Robinson. In May of 2016 the original contract was awarded in the amount of $178,609.00 for three-year initial term and two one-year renewals. The initial term (FY17-19) was posted for an estimated total of $35,021 plus repairs per fiscal year. The two-one year renewals (FY20 and FY21) were posted for an estimated total of $36,773 plus repairs per fiscal year. In May of 2019, the first renewal notice was published for an estimated $53,000. This change order is to increase the FY20 contract amount to an estimated total of $70,500. Since the cost of repairs cannot be estimated, the total cost of FY20 will not exceed $80,000 without a formal change order. This accounts for a $27,000 increase for FY20. The contract maximum on this contract through June 30, 2020 will be $226,823.50.
The purpose of this change order is to complete all remaining work on the contract. This change order is authorized under 720 ILCS 5/33E-9 as this was not reasonably foreseeable at the time of contract signature, is germane to the original contract and in the best interest of the state. This change order is authorized by the Chief Procurement Officer and State Purchasing Officer for the Illinois Secretary of State. Please disregard all references made to the Chief Procurement Office of Higher Education.
