Illinois State University has an extensive system of radio communications equipment currently in wideband operation including but not limited to the Campus Police and Facilities Management departments. In order to continue utilizing campus-wide radio communication, the University must comply with the federal mandate to switch to narrow band frequencies. ISU’s current population of analog radios is 500. Replacement of current radios will be processed in a separate competitive bid. ISU is seeking a service provider to deliver 2-way radio service for campus consumption by implementing equipment within university facilities. This service would provide a single point of transmission, offer an array of flexible talk groups, deliver digital quality and provide penetration of facilities into non-public spaces.
This pre-solicitation request for information (RFI) invites vendors to submit non-price information about the availability of broadband services.
