The Board of Trustees of Illinois State University hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the Residence Hall Computer Access East Campus and Dining Centers project.

Illinois State University is requesting bids for the installation of new telecommunications, wiring, spaces, pathways, grounding and electrical wiring in the East Campus resdience hall and dining centers. Completion date is September 1, 2001.

Bidding documents may be obtained at CBT Companies, Inc. Attn: Jim Rinehart, 803 Fayette, Peoria, IL 61603, Phone (309) 676-6633 or Fax (309) 676-0502. A $100 deposit is required for the bidding documents. A certified check, company check, or CIB/AGC card made payable to Henneman, Raufeisen & Associates, Inc. will be accepted. "Prime Bidding Contractor" may obtain up to five sets of bidding documents. "Prime Bidding Contractor" is defined as a prime contractor submitting a bid proposal to the Owner on the bid form provided. Additional sets may be obtained by Prime Bidding Contractors and Subcontractors for a deposit of $50/$100 per set with $0 being refundable. Only complete sets of bidding documents will be issued by the Architect/Engineer. Such deposits will only be refunded when the documents are returned in good condition within 10 business days after the last applicable bid opening. Awarded contractors must contact the Architect/Engineer for return of deposit within 10 business days after award. Good condition is defined as follows: Project Manual: Bound in order, having all addenda issued, no personal markings such as pen, pencils, post-it plags, etc. Project Drawings: Stapled with binding strip, no excessive tears, no personal markings such as pen, pencils, post-it flags, etc.

Sealed envelopes containing the bids will be marked Residence Hall Computer Access East Campus and Dining Centers. Bids will be received up to the hour of 11:00 AM local time, on Wednesday, April 18, 2001. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

All bids must include:

  • Bid security (see complete bid for details)
  • A letter from a surety company in substantially the form set forth in the Instructions to Bidders assuring the issuance of the Performance and Payment Bond.
  • All bidders must submit a PC-2 form as required by the Illinois Department of Human Rights.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for March 26, 2001, 10:00 AM, ISU Facilities Planning Office Conference Room. A second mandatory prebid is scheduled for April 4, 2001, 10:00 AM, Carter Harris Physical Plant, Project Managers confernece room. This pre-bid meeting is for all trades except electrical.
