The Board of Trustees of Illinois State University hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the Teacher Education Center Garden Level of DeGarmo Hall project.

Illinois State University is requesting bids to remodel 3000 square feet of existing office space. The scope involves, but is not limited to, selective demolition and infill rebuilding of plaster on gypsum lath partitions, hollow metal doors, frames, and borrowed lites, tee-bar acoustic ceilings, replacement of carpet, installation of new casework, construction of gypsum board partitions, relocation of kitchenette, installation of new wood doors and metal frames, suspended acoustic lay in ceiling and modifications to HVAC, lighting, and phone and data systems.

Bidding documents may be obtained from LZT Associaties, Inc. 124 S W Adams St., Suite 450, Peoria, IL 61602. A $25.00 deposit for each set is required. Bidding documents will be available July 18, 2001. General contractors may obtain up to 3 complete sets of bidding documents. Subcontractors may obtain 1 complete set of bidding documents. Deposits for bidding documents shall be in the form of checks made payable to LZT Associates, Inc. or CIB-AGC document request/security cards. Deposits will be returned to bidders who return all complete sets of bidding documents in good condition to Architect/Engineer within 10 days after the date of opening of bids.

Sealed envelopes containing the bids will be marked Teacher Education Center Garden Level of DeGarmo Hall. Bids will be received up to the hour of 11:00 AM local time, on Wednesday, August 8, 2001. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

All bids must include:

  • Bid security (see complete bid for details)
  • A letter from a surety company in substantially the form set forth in the Instructions to Bidders assuring the issuance of the Performance and Payment Bond.
  • All bidders must submit a PC-2 form as required by the Illinois Department of Human Rights.

A mandatory prebid meeting is scheduled for July 30, 2001, 1:30PM, 117 Hovey Hall, Purchasing conference room, Illinois State Univeristy. If you are planning to submit a prime bid for this project, you must attend this meeting and your company?s name must appear on the official attendance log. This log will be used in the bid opening process, and if your company?s name does not appear on the log, your bid will not be opened.
