The Board of Trustees of Illinois State University hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the Cardinal Court Apartment smoke detectors project (Bid # LB08210100).
This project includes the installation of new single-station smoke detectors, surface raceway, flex conduit, grounding and electrical wiring in the Cardinal Court Apartments.
The bidding documents may be obtained at CBT Companies, Inc., Attn: Jim Rinehart, 803 Fayette St, Peoria, IL 61603, Ph: (309) 676-6633, Fax: (309) 676-0502. A $100 certified check, company check, or CIB/AGC card made payable to Henneman, Raufeisen & Associates, Inc. will be accepted. The "Prime Bidding Contractor" may obtain up to five sets of the bidding documents. "Prime Bidding Contractor" is defined as a prime contractor submitting a bid proposal as the owner on the bid form provided. Additional sets may be obtained by prime bidding contractors and subcontractors for a depoist of $50/$100 per set with $0 being refundable. Only complete sets of Bidding Documents will be issued by the Architect/engineer.
Such deposits will only be refunded when the documents are returned in good condition within 10 business days after the last applicable bid opening. Awarded contractors must contact the architect/engineer for return of deposit within 10 business days after award. Good condition is defined as follows: Project Manual: Bound in order, having all addenda issued, no personal markings such as pen, pencil, post-it flags, etc. Project Drawings: Stapled with binding strip, no excessive tears, no personal markings such as pen, pencil, post-it flags, etc. Return the bidding documents to CBT Companies, Inc. in order to have your deposit returned.
Completion date is December 31, 2001.
Sealed envelopes containing the bids will be marked Cardinal Court Apartment smoke detectors. Bids will be received up to the hour of 11:00 AM local time, on Tuesday, August 21, 2001. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

A mandotory pre-bid meeting is schedule for August 13, 2001, 1:30 PM, local time, at the Facilities Planning Office Conference Room. If you are planning to submit a prime bid for this project, you must attend this meeting and your company's name must appear on the official attendance log. This log will be used in the bid opening process, and if your company's name does not appear on the log, your bid will not be opened.
