The Board of Trustees of Illinois State University hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the Northeast Chilled Water Zone project (Bid # LB091103).

This project includes revisions to the existing chilled water piping and pumping systems in both the Vrooman Dining Center and the Science Lab buildings, modifications to an intersection in the existing tunnel system between the above buidings and revisions to the chilled water piping in this area, and revisions to and extension of electrical services in both buildings and tunnel to accommodate mechanical and structural work. Separate bids shall be submitted for General, Heating, and Electrical subdivisions of work.

Bidding documents may be obtained at Decatur Blueprint, Inc., 230 W. Wood, Decatur, IL 62523, PH: 217.423.7589, Fax: 217.423.7580. Bonafide bidders may obtain up to 3 sets of documents upon depositing a money order, cashier's check or company check for the sum of $50 for each set of documents, payable to Clark Dietz, Inc. The deposit will be refunded in full upon return of the documents in good and useable condition if returned within 10 days after receipt of the bids.

Sealed envelopes containing the bids will be marked Northeast Chilled Water Zone. Bids will be received up to the hour of 11:00 AM local time, on Thursday, September 11, 2003. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

All bids must include:

  • Bid security (see complete bid for details)
  • A letter from a surety company in substantially the form set forth in the Instructions to Bidders assuring the issuance of the Performance and Payment Bond.
  • All bidders must submit a PC-2 form as required by the Illinois Department of Human Rights.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for August 28, 2003, 1:00 PM local time at Facilities Planning Office Conference Room, 608 S., Main St., Normal, IL. If you are planning to submit a prime bid for this project, you must attend this meeting and your company name must appear on the official attendance log. This log will be used in the bid opening process. If your company name does not appear on the attendance log, your bid will not be opened.
