Illinois State University is seeking statements of qualifications from engineering firms interested in providing evaluation, planning, and services associated with a Comprehensive Facilities Condition Assessment for the entire campus. This project will provide for the evaluation and analysis of the buildings and their systems, including structural and physical integrity, accessibility, and utilites distribution to and within the buildings. Efforts will include the development of a prioritized "project" list that includes a description of deficiencies, recommended work, and estimated costs. The project data base must be linked with the Facilities Management software program. The total budget for the project is approximately $475,000.
Illlinois State University has in excess of 6,000,000 square feet in approximately 150 individual buildings. Between 2 and 2.5 million of that space is student residence space. The oldest building on campus was constructed in the 1890's, with the bulk of the buildings constructued in the late 50's to early 70's.
