Project Description
Illinois State University is seeking statements of qualifications from architectural firms interested in providing design and construction administrative services for the installation of a new roof system on the Horton Fieldhouse barrel roof on the main campus. Work will include the removal of the existing roof and insulation down to the existing concrete deck and replacement with a new membrane roofing and insulation system.

Horton Fieldhouse is a large activity center (approximately 42,000 square feet of floor space) for athletic practices, summer camps, and recreational activities. The building was opened in 1961. The roof of this building is a long span steel shape with 2 x 8 concrete panel roof deck set into steel frames. The peak of the barrel roof is approximately 60? above the finished floor. This proposed project is essential to maintaining the exterior envelope of the facility and extending its useful life. There are a number of rooftop ventilation units and a fall protection system that will need to be maintained and incorporated into the design and construction. Coordination will be required to facilitate work, accommodate facility egress and use, and scheduled with appropriate ISU staff.

Design firms interested in submitting their qualifications should have demonstrated knowledge and experience with roof replacement projects. The architects and their consultants will be responsible for developing a complete project budget as their design progresses.

As a project funded by the University, the following are required:
?Complete A/E 3D Building Information Modeling (BIM) during the entire design process
