Redbird Arena hosted its first events in January 1989 and seats approximately 10,000. It is the home to Illinois State University Redbird basketball (mens and womens) and volleyball. It also hosts other University events including graduation ceremonies, and other events including high school girls' basketball and volleyball state competitions and various floor events.
The University seeks to engage professionals to complete the following design services for this project. The scope of planning and design services includes, but may not be limited to:
1.Planning and design of a new office suite for athletic administration
2.Planning and design of a new Hall of Fame for the athletic department
3.Planning and design of a new ticketing office suite and walk-up ticket windows
4.Planning for continued and improved egress paths for large events
5.Planning for continued and improved main entrance building approach
6.Accommodation of site amenities
Firms interested in submitting their qualifications should have demonstrated knowledge and experience with college athletic event and assembly facilities design on a university campus. The designers and any sub-consultants will be responsible for developing a complete project estimate to be submitted at Schematic Design, 50% and 100% design documents submittal stages.
As a project funded by the University, the following are required:
- Complete A/E 3D Building Information Modeling (BIM) during the entire design process
