Project Description
Illinois State University is seeking professional architectural and engineering services who have experience specific to institutional environments for a facilities condition assessment of the campus buildings and recommended maintenance, repair or replacement plan for facilities that are operated by the Event Management, Dining, and Hospitality unit, a division of student affairs.

The buildings to be evaluated are 1.) the Bone Student Center, 2.) Braden Auditorium, 3.) Bowling and Billiards Center, 4.) Student Services Building, 5.) Watterson Dining Commons, and 6.) Linkins Dining Center. Total square feet of these facilities combined is approximately 500,000 square feet. Several of these buildings have recently undergone renovations or additions, or projects are planned in the very near future. All of this planned project work and information will be made available to consultants upon engagement.

1.Inspect and evaluate air handling units, cooling coils. vav units. reheat coils, exhaust systems, heat exchangers, kitchen hoods, etc. and associated ductwork and review and recommend energy saving measures

2.Inspect and evaluate steam and chilled water piping, traps, valves, expansion joints, etc, and associated insulation and review and recommend energy saving measures

3.Inspect and evaluate domestic water systems, water heaters, valves, waste lines, drains, vents, sumps, heat exchangers, etc, and associated insulation and review and recommend energy saving measures

4.Inspect and evaluate building electrical systems, panel boards, switchgear equipment, lighting systems, etc. and review and recommend energy saving measures

5.Inspect and evaluate fire suppression systems and associated equipment

6.Inspect and evaluate building envelopes including roof, windows, exterior systems (brick, masonry, concrete, etc.) and recommend energy saving measures

7.Complete an asbestos survey and prepare a report

8.Prepare cost estimates for work scope for each of the six buildings with no scope exceeding $250,000 where feasible

  • Registered and authorized to do business in the State of Illinois.

Selection will be consistent with the Architectural, Engineering, and Land Surveying Qualifications Based Selection Act (30 ILCS 535/1).
