The Board of Trustees of Illinois State University hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the Science Building Variable Frequency Drive Replacement project.

Replace Variable Frequency Drive at the Illinois State University Science Building, including replacement of inverters at ten existing variable frequency drive enclosures. Electrical prime bids will be accepted for this project.

Bidding documents may be obtained at CBT Companies (attn: Jim Rinehart), 325 West R. B. Garret Avenue, Peoria, IL 61605; Phone 309-676-6633; Fax: 309-676-0502. A $100 deposit is required made payable to Henneman, Raufeisen & Associates, Inc. If bidding documents are returned in good condition within 10 days after bid opening, your deposit will be returned.

Sealed envelopes containing the bids will be marked Science Building Variable Frequency Drive Replacement . Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 PM local time, on Thursday, January 13, 2005. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

All bids must include:

  • Bid security (see complete bid for details)
  • A letter from a surety company in substantially the form set forth in the Instructions to Bidders assuring the issuance of the Performance and Payment Bond.
  • All bidders must submit a PC-2 form as required by the Illinois Department of Human Rights.

A mandatory prebid meeting is scheduled for January 4, 2005, 10:00 AM CST, at the Purchasing Office, Hovey Hall, Room 117, Illinois State Univeristy, Normal, Illinois. This is a mandatory prebid meeting. If you are planning to submit a prime bid for this project, you must attend this meeting and your company name must appear on the official attendance log. This log will be used in the bid opening process, and if your company name does not appear on the log, your bid will not be opened.
