The Board of Trustees of Illinois State University hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the Fell Hall dormer project.

This work relates to the east roof line of Fell Hall.

The contractor will:

  • Remove existing aluminum siding from 13 dormers and replace with new siding.
  • Renail, as necessary, all wood trim on face of dormers.
  • Check reattach or replace any loose dentil blocks, trim and fascia boards.
  • Check and replace any deteriorated wood soffit with like material.
  • Furnish and install 3 inch round louvers in soffits for the venting of the soffit area.
  • Repaint all dormer trim and soffit trim.
  • Inspect and repair copper box gutter lining by soldering joints.

Sealed envelopes containing the bids will be marked Fell Hall dormer. Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 PM local time, on Tuesday, April 26, 2005. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

All bids must include:

  • Bid security (see complete bid for details)
  • A letter from a surety company in substantially the form set forth in the Instructions to Bidders assuring the issuance of the Performance and Payment Bond.
  • All bidders must submit a PC-2 form as required by the Illinois Department of Human Rights.

There is a mandatory pre-bid meeting on April 12, 2005 at 10:00 AM at the Purchasing Office Conference Room, Hovey Hall Room 117, Illinois State University, Normal, Illinois. If you are planning to submit a prime bid for this project, you must attend this meeting and your company name must appear on the official attendance log. This log will be used in the bid opening process, and if your company name does not appear on the log, your bid will not be opened.
