The Board of Trustees of Illinois State University hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the a Williams Hall cooling tower project.

This project will include dismantling and scrapping of the existing cooling tower at Williams Hall. The contractor shall hire and coordinate rental crane(s) to be used to remove the existing tower from its rooftop location and to handle the newer tower, provided by owner. The new tower will be set in the same location as before. Contractor shall modify existing piping to suit the new dimensions of the tower. Make-up water system and chemical treatment will not be significantly affected. The contractor shall be responsible for electrical disconnect and reconnection. The owner shall furnish all piping materials and fittings. The owner shall be responsible to deliver the new tower, to provide the truck on which to place the old tower, and to haul the old tower from the site.

Sealed envelopes containing the bids will be marked a Williams Hall cooling tower . Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 PM local time, on Tuesday, October 25, 2005. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

All bids must include:

• Bid security (see complete bid for details)
• A letter from a surety company in substantially the form set forth in the Instructions to Bidders assuring the issuance of the Performance and Payment Bond.
• All bidders must submit a PC-2 form as required by the Illinois Department of Human Rights.

There is a mandatory pre-bid meeting on October 10, 2005 at 10:00 AM CST Hovey Hall Room 117, Illinois State University, Normal, Illinois, 61790-1220. If you are planning to submit a prime bid for this project, you must attend this meeting and your company name must appear on the official attendance log. This log will be used in the bid opening process, and if your company name does not appear on the log, your bid will not be opened.
