The Board of Trustees of Illinois State University hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the Classroom Lighting Improvement project.

The lighting upgrades shall be limited to removal of existing T12 fluorescent lamps and magnetic ballasts in approximately 8,000 light fixtures. Each lamp and ballast will be replaced one-for-one with T8 lamps and electronic ballasts. Buildings affected under this contract are Centennial East, McKormick Hall, Williams Hall, Nelson Smith, Center for the Visual Arts (CVA), Ropp Agriculture, Fell Hall, Old Union, Fairchild Hall, Moulton Hall, and Milner Library.

Bidding documents may be obtained through Dean's Digital Plan Room @ www.deansblueprint.com or from Engineering Concepts Solutions, 1103 Mattis Avenue, Suite B, Champaign, Illinois 67927, Attn: Tim Madden, PH# 217-355-9061.

Sealed envelopes containing the bids will be marked Classroom Lighting Improvement. Bids will be received up to the hour of 2:00 PM local time, on Wednesday, November 9, 2005. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

All bids must include:

  • Bid security (see complete bid for details)
  • A letter from a surety company in substantially the form set forth in the Instructions to Bidders assuring the issuance of the Performance and Payment Bond.
  • All bidders must submit a PC-2 form as required by the Illinois Department of Human Rights.

There is a mandatory pre-bid meeting on October 27, 2005 at 10:00 AM CST at the Purchasing Office Conference Room, Hovey Hall, Room 117, Illinois State University, Normal, Illinois. This is a mandatory pre-bid meeting. If you are planning to submit a prime bid for this project, you must attend this meeting and your company name must appear on the official attendance log. This log will be used in the bid opening process, and if your company name does not appear on the log, your bid will not be opened.
