The University
awarded
a contract for
water treatment chemicals
to
HOH Chemicals, Palatine, IL
for
an estimated $80,000.
These chemical blends from this vendor have proven to meet the compatibility of equipment, aceessories, and service required by the Illinois State University Water Treatment Facility. These water treatment chemicals are a unique proprietary blend. Attempts have been made to acquire acceptable alternative chemicals from other sources utilizing state contracts and the competitive bidding process. Tests have been performed, but have been unsuccessful in finding any adequate substitutes.
This purchase is only economically available from a single source because the
compatibility of equipment, accessories, replacement parts, or service is a paramount consideration.
