Illinois State University seeks to replace several existing mass notification systems used throughout campus. The ideal software as a service solution would provide automated sending and approval workflow for authorized senders of official campus email; easy creation of opt-in email lists and subscriptions for individual users; and more flexible options for communication of technology outages. Hosting of the solution off-campus is desired to ensure that any on campus technology failures do not impact communications including the reporting of outages. A single solution is preferred, however, the University will accept proposals for each of the two key solutions also (mass notification and technology outage).
The University does have an existing tool for emergency communications. It is not intended for the proposed solution to replace or integrate with the emergency communications tool.
