The Board of Trustees of Illinois State University hereby requests sealed bids for construction work on the Milner Library lobby renovation electrical rebid project (Bid # mc1212001).

The Board of Trustees of Illinois State Unversity will receive sealed bids for the Milner Library Lobby Renovation Electrical Re-bid until 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2000 at the Illinois State University Purchasing Office, at which place and time the bids will be publicly opened and read.

Sealed envelopes containing the bids in duplicate will be marked "Milner Library Lobby Renovation Electrical Re-bid." Bids shall be submitted to the Illinois State University Purchasing Office, 117 Hovey Hall, Normal Il 61790-1220.

Bidders should be prequalified in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders issued by the Board of Trustees as indicated in the bid documents. Bids shall include the following:

1. Bid security in the form of a bid bond, certified check, cashier''''s check, or bank money order, payable to the Board of Trustees of Illinois State University, in the amount of: Electrical - 5% of Bid.
2. A letter from a surety company in substantially the form set forth in the Instructions to Bidders assuring the issuance of the Performance and Payment Bond. 3. One completed copy of the Illinois Department of Human Rights Form PC-2, entitled: Bidder''''s Employee Utilization Form Construction."
Bids may not be withdrawn after the opening of bids.

One copy of the bidding documents is available for inspection at the Illinois State University Purchasing Office. Drawings and specifications for this project may be obtained from CBT, 803 Fayette, Peoria Illinois, 309 676-6633. Plan deposit (checks only, no cash) will be $100 for each complete set. Full amount of the deposit will be returned to bidders who submit bids, if the documents are returned in a usable condition within thirty days after the opening of bids.

Bidding documents are available for inspection at the Illinois State University Purchasing Office.

Scope of Project: The project is for the interior renovation of selected areas of the Milner Library located on the Illinois State University campus in Normal, IL. Work includes, but is not limited to the following:

Electrical Work: Demolition required for remodeling, transformers, panelboards, conduits, fittings, conductors, and devices, lighting fixtures and controls, and telephone and data wiring.

Completion Date: Project shall be completed to "Certificate of Substantial Completion" no later than Monday, March 19. 2001; with Final Completion occurring no later than Friday, March 23, 2001.

Sealed envelopes containing the bids will be marked Milner Library lobby renovation electrical rebid. Bids will be received up to the hour of 11:00 AM local time, on Tuesday, December 12, 2000. Immediately after closing time for receiving bids, they will be opened publicly and read.

All bids must include:

  • Bid security (see complete bid for details)
  • All bidders must submit a PC-2 form as required by the Illinois Department of Human Rights.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on Monday, December 4, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. local time at the Facilities Planning Building, 608 N Main St, Normal Illinois. This is a mandatory pre-bid meeting. If you are planning to submit a prime bid for this project, you msut attend this meeting and your company''s name must appear on the official attendance log. This log will be used in the bid opening process, and and if your company''s name does not appear on the log, your bid will not be opened.
